Login to beastie2 (NIS/NFS Server)

  1. Add new user in NIS/NFS Server
    • fdo-add-nis-user username "Display Name"
  2. Type the password
  3. Test the user created by:
    • ypcat passwd

Login to client

  1. Enable the NIS service on the client
    • fdo-enable-nis
  2. Test the user created by;
    • ypcat passwd - test the nfs
  3. Setup the new user
    • new-user domain username "Display Name"

Bootstrapping users

  1. Enable the NIS service on the client
    • fdo-enable-nis
  2. Boostrap the user
    • fdo-boostrap-nis-user username
  3. Setup webdrive username and password
    • fdo-setup-nis-user-webdav domain username password

Slow boot

  1. fdo-disable-nis
  2. fdo-enable-nis or
  3. Check with ethtool eth0
